The Maipo Volcano, located at the South of Mendoza, it is the first
mountain that differs from the group of the bordering mountain range,
resembling more to the patagonic mountain range ones. Their glaciers feed
the lagoon of the Diamond and the homonymous River, giving to the area
a special sight for the practice of outdoors.
The area where it's located, it's one of the most important regions
in Mendoza owing is a common territory for the migratory birds to land,
on their annual move from Patagonia to the north, as well as guanacos
herd, which actually are more than 5000 members counted by the Permanent
Rangers Service.
