AEA Expeditions was founded in 1999 by Angel Ezequiel Armesto. His neverending curiosity for climbing and exploration commence at the early age of 14, while he discovered his passion for mountaneering. During summers he spend all his savings traveling and making new routes down south in Argentine first in companion of high school friends whom early realized he had so much to go. Inspired in old tales from discovery climbers, he moved to Mendoza, where he made a incredible record while he became the youngest professional high mountain guide. Aconcagua and the steep south faces along the whole andean region became a training ground where he wrote some of the toughest pages of climbing andean history. Unable to find a partner at the height of circunstances, he began a solo climbing career along Andes, Europe and Himalayas that suddenly made his name an international reference among mountain guides.
Now, twelve seasons and more than 50 expeditions to Aconcagua under his belt, he led trips all over the world where others do not even think it could be done. An extrange mix between his vibrant personality and research about the very minimun aspects, had breed a unique style everyone had chances to met could talk about. Passionate for local folk storyteling and writting, a part time job he does for magazines and newspapers, he's well known as an storyteller during the enjoyable days at basecamp.
